SNOWBIRDS Are you looking to work during the summer, live in your own rig on-site, then head south or west for the winter? You may be interested in one of our team leader positions.

CAREER OPPORTUNITY for a General Management Team

Here is your chance to live a life outside the ordinary. Leave the Monday to Friday, 50-week work year behind. If you are looking for a fulfilling experience, creating summer memories for campers and for your own family, and aren’t afraid of hard work or rural living, this is the opportunity for you to make your dreams come true!

Enjoy life in this well-established quiet family campground on the shores of Eagle Lake near Strathmore, just east of Calgary Alberta.  This 25-acre RV resort is nestled in the prairies of rural Alberta. It is only 10 minutes from town and 40 minutes from the city.  Enjoy a secure and wholesome environment complete with long-lasting sunsets, birdwatching and fishing.  Our clientele is loyal with over half of the 135 sites occupied by seasonals and the others mainly by repeat guests. The current owner has been here since 1992 and is ready to step back and to hand off the day-to-day operations to a general management team.

The summer hours are long but rewarding. We are people’s get-a-way place so working evenings, weekends and long weekends is a given. The winter hours are, for the most part, your own, with some general caretaking, newsletter and invoice creation, project time and participation in trade shows and career fairs.

Remuneration includes pay based on experience as well as low cost accommodations in an on-site 1000 square foot, three bedroom older mobile home complete with private deck and yard.

You will oversee a team of four to eight staff during the high season and be in charge of running all areas of the resort.

Some of your  AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY  would be (but not limited to):
The front and back offices, including professional level communication, both written and verbal with guests and team members.
Tracking, billing, collection of revenue and recording of same.
Stocking and running the store and profit centres.
Leading activities including a daily program with our small farm animals.
Cleaning washrooms, outbuildings, rental units, rental boats, machines, offices.
Grounds-keeping including cleaning sites, farm areas, beach and common areas, grass-cutting,
tree-trimming, gardening, table and sign repair, painting.
Machine and small equipment maintenance and repairs.

Of course, you will do this with a smile on your face as well as deal with the surprises that come up each day when you are working with the general public.
Attention to detail and safety is paramount. Mandatory record keeping is required.
This career is best suited for a multi-year, four-season commitment, but may be altered in small ways to accommodate snowbirds if you meet all of the other requirements.
At least two adults are required, families welcome!  Two couples working together could also be considered.

You must:
Legally be able to live and work in Canada.
Have two or more adults capable of covering both inside and outside operations on a full-time basis from April to October. The campground is closed in the winters so fewer hours are required in the off-season.
Have verifiable campground management experience.  B&B or “mom and pop” style motel experience may be considered.
Be bondable.
Have clean and current driver’s licence (at least one member).
Be comfortable with PC computers and an office productivity suite.
Be goal and customer serviced oriented, with an aim to solve challenges. Working together for the common good of the guests and other team members is essential.  While you often work on certain things on your own, this isn’t the place for power struggles.

Year-round salary negotiable based on experience.
Discounted fully furnished accommodations available.
Pets and children welcome.

Email us a letter telling us why you would be a good choice, what your presence will add to the resort and what you would like to gain from this opportunity including salary expectations.  Attach your resume and references.
